“Weird and funny in all the right ways”

-KRISTER JOHNSON (WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER)

The show is about trying to make up for being gay by being super successful. But also, trying to make up for being heartbroken by being super successful. Fresh from the ashes after a fiery rebirth residency at Dr. Brown’s Lyric Hyperion Theatre in LA: “I Was Confused from the Beginning” is an idiot-clown show that lives at the corner of Queer Rage and Debilitating Ambition. Jack, the director, wants me to make sure everyone knows that it’s very gay and, most importantly, funny.

““Lavallee is such a strong performer. so fun to watch. so dynamic, so engaging - just wonderful.”

when I’m doing the show

Here’s an excerpt from the show.

It’s the part where I show the audience all the things I’m good at as a performer.
